Since his first election to the Board of Aldermen in 1997, Tony Hisaw has been a visible, active and effective participant in bringing Clinton residents more and better-equipped police officers, firefighters, rescue and emergency medical personnel, and an efficient municipal court and justice system. In addition, his leadership has resulted in expanded and improved parks and recreation programs, as well as improvements made possible by better public works equipment, technology and employee training. This progress has been largely funded by an aggressive strategy of economic development that has resulted in significant growth in sales tax revenue and property tax revenue, through increases in property values, not by tax rate increases. Ward 1 voters asked him to serve a second term in 2001, and a third term in 2005.
