External encroachment on the city, primarily by the City of Jackson. State law and the courts have established a city’s right to grow and protect its integrity. I supported the 2004 annexation plan. The extension of city services to the annexed area will be an ongoing primary objective.

Internal encroachment. The City of Clinton has a fair and reasonable zoning ordinance. I support fair and consistent enforcement of the ordinance, without arbitrary and capricious decisions. The city has an obligation to protect the property values of all Clinton citizens.

Education. The greatest community asset Clinton has is primary, secondary, and higher education. I support the Clinton Public School District, Mount Salus Christian School, and Mississippi College. This asset cannot be compromised.

Local Government. I support conservative, fiscally-responsible, good government through the quality use of public resources.

Public Service. I strive to provide positive solutions to citizen’s needs.
